Programs

BDPA New Jersey Chapter provides a variety of programs for its members, students and communities. (For brochure click here: Who is BDPA New Jersey-2018 )

Student Information and Technology Education and Scholarship (SITES) Program

The SITES Program offers training classes and seminars on technology topics to BDPA New Jersey Chapter members, high school and college students, and our surrounding communities. BDPA wants to help you become the next generation of IT professionals and executives. Additionally, you will acquire important business skills that add to your potential to advance, such as:

  • Effective speaking and writing
  • Delivering impressive presentations
  • Setting and meeting goals
  • Team building
  • Time management

High School Computer Camp

The High School Computer Camp offers high school students throughout the state the opportunity to learn general computer science concepts, web based technology and the fundamentals of team building and leadership. Students learn how to design and develop websites using Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), JavaScript, VBScript, Active Server Pages (ASP) and Microsoft Access database.

The top students who excel in the program get the opportunity to compete against students from other BDPA chapters in our region locally as well as with students from around the country at the National BDPA Conference. Students from across the country match IT skills, competing for college scholarships.

Families in Technology Day

Families in Technology (FIT) Day is an annual event that is hosted with our corporate sponsors and strategic partners to elevate technology awareness of our surrounding communities. FIT Day is free and open to the general public. During the event, attendees sit in on workshops on computing basics, computer repair, the Internet, personal communication and other subjects. One of the most exciting aspects of this event is that we give away sponsor donated computers, devices and software to families that attend the event. FIT Day is indeed an excellent opportunity for people of all ages to learn about technology and come together as a community. Let us know if you or your organization would like to be a sponsor or provide services and give-aways in kind.

Monthly Professional Development Seminars and Program Meetings

These programs are offered to our members and guests. The topics cover business, technology, communication and personal development topics. These programs are held the 2nd Thursday of the month. Visit our Events Calendar for information about upcoming program seminars

Corporate Sponsorship and Scholarship Awards Dinner

Each year we host our Corporate Sponsorship and Scholarship Awards Dinner where we recognize our members, corporate sponsors, High School Computer Competition (HSCC) Team, and our strategic partners for their contributions to the year’s activities and programs. This year’s dinner in November promises to be a fantastic success so do not delay in purchasing your tickets early.
